| What do you think they'll do now?? personally I thought it was going to be a nightmare to try and organise around auckland anyway, they'd have to seal over all the man holes and stuff so the covers don't pop off and things. I don't see why the horse people that took over Pukekohe didn't do the required work to get it up to scratch so they can keep having them htere, Pukekohe is quite a cool place to have them, town just buzzes during the racing, however I'm a little biased. | ||||
| ||||
| I wouldn't have minded it, but it would have inconvenienced way too many people and their "Don't like it? Leave town!" attitude was pretty poor. Maybe they should ask the boy racers which suburb is the best for racing. I'm all for yearly drags along East Tamaki Road. | ||||

| I see Welly is looking at it . . ![]() They've done it before, so it shouldn't be too hard for them ![]() ![]() | ||||

| Penny, click here. Whilst participating in this activity pretend you're saying the sentence out loud. Consider human lung storage and short term memory. ![]() | ||||

| yeah..whats the problem with it? | ||||

| When I read this thread I totally got the wrong end of the stick. It appeared that Penny was calling Aukland a Pukehole, which I thought a tad strange at the time. Who in their right minds would name a place anything that could be misread as Pukehole? Probably the same ones who named, Mianus, Wetwang and Satan Pants. | ||||

| haha Darkling, its not quite pronounced the same. But I have seen it on one of those page-a-day calendars "Stupid signs" or something, the title was "Seen outside a hotel in New Zealand" "Puke Hotel" Pukekohe is often shortened to Puke. | ||||

| Like the road sign: Lover's Lane. Humps 100 yds | ||||

| I lived on Te Puke ave for a few months. Te - maori for 'the' Puke - english for 'vomit' I also lived on Pupuke road...near Lake Pupuke. Pu - sounds like poo Puke - as defined above. (Is actually pronounced 'pook-key' like book-key) | ||||
| ||||
| What about Waikikamukau? Pronounced "Why kick a moo-cow". | ||||

| Getting back on the topic lads .... It would have been cool to have the V8s in Auckland but yeah, totally wrong place to have them driving around ... the city is bad enough as it is without that added drama. I would have had a good vantage from the new VF building though. Just the other day it took 15 minutes to drive from Mt Eden to Ponsonby (light traffic) to go to training and over 45 minutes to get back due to the traffic congestion. | ||||
