Default Shopping with Briall

Schools about to start and so the clothing issue is front and center.

Briall will be in middle school and the dress code is black skirts or slacks or pants and white or black tops with black back packs.

The school is white, hispanic and black. There was a lot of gang problems until the school cracked down. And gang color went first.

Off to the mall we go.

Finding black and white only thingss with no logos or distinguishing marks is hard.

But we find one outfit. Jeans and a white top.

Did you know that there is this strechy stuff in jeans that makes steam come from granpas ears?

Reminds me of thunder thighs and the theme from The Stripper.

So we move up one size. penny, I am told I am not that much fun to shop with. Yep.

Then a quick lunch at the food court. Briall had a chicken salad sandwich and I had pad thai noodles with shrimp.

Trust me on this. Never have pad thai noodles in a food court.

Anyway, one outfit down and a few to go.

You're lucky you get something of an option.

When I was at High School (aged 13 - 17) we had to wear uniform - the same thing all year round. Blue skirt (above the knee), white blouse, white short socks, red jersey - and we wore that all year round. We didn't have the option of wearing pants. The guys did though ... they were allowed to wear blue pants in winter. It wasn't until I got to 5th form (age 15) that we could wear our sports tracksuits instead of uniform. Of course, you could only wear your sports tracksuit if you were in the 1st team for sport. Fortunately I was in the 1st XI in hockey.

I can tell you, it was darn cold back in the days when all we were allowed to wear was skirts.

My problem with the shopping is that all those who did not attend the event will make comment thereon. Endlessly. then we will have a new tribal legend.

I admire you for going shopping with a girl ED! something my father would never do.

My School uniform, just think about the colour of Mould. Thats the colour of my school uniform. The skirt had two pleats in it, and it had to sit, so the end of it touched the ground when we kneeled on the floor (We of course rolled up our skirts when the teachers wern't looking ). Then in summer it was a short sleeved shirt and a cardigan or jersy (also mould coloured) in winter, long sleeved shirt, tie, and black stockings(Woollen) and we would have to wear a blazer on formal occansions.

I used to hate the stockings I would take them off on the bus on the way home.
I hated my uniform. But it was good not having to pick out what to wear each day.

Hi penny, Briall is fun. She is worried about a recent weight gain. She has gone to 80 pounds. But she swims 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours per day. I think it is mostly muscle.

Today was lifesaving with the float on a strp. What a gas.

Sounds like you have a neat relationship with your Grandkids. I could never shoip with my grandmother, she always tried to put me into some very stupid outfit, that I would never wear.

Where do you go to shop? to a big shopping centre?

Normally, I would do a smaller center.

This would need some describing. So here goes.

I live in San Francisco so we have the elite, top of the line, mid range and not so well made.

Noe Valley has no elite stores, one or two top of the line, several mid range and thats it. But these are not kids shops.

Mission street is close.

Castro district is more gay and guy things.

We will shop Mission, Geary Street and some of the malls. But we know when to shop and have a list of items and the prices.

Crikey ... you're organised Ed.

I'm lucky if I prepare a shopping list before I go shopping, let alone a list of prices as well.
