Some guy had his laptop for sale on ebay. Some other dude tried to scam him out of it by buying it thru another, less-reputable service.

Instead, the guy, along with his forum mates, sent the scammer a piece of junk, and the scammer had to pay some large amount of money in import taxes.

Sometimes justice is like a dish of revenge... It is best served cold.

It wouldn't be surpising if more people organized groups like this. This vaguely reminds me about one of those groups who prowl the chat rooms looking for victims-- no they're not sexual predators but are normal people purporting to be little teenage girls in an attempt to "meet" one of the pervs and when the jerk shows up, they out him in very creative ways.

I wish I could see the look on the scammer's face when he opened the package. It would make a perfect "priceless" commercial.
