| Y'know...like the song? Anyway, today we were treated to a major hailstorm. No massive chunks of ice, just LOTS of little ones. Check the Gallery for some piccies. ![]() ![]() | ||||

| Well I don't really see any hail in that photo, but I don't see why'd you lie about a hail storm so I'm assuming your telling the truth. Anyways I like snow, but hail and ice are dangerous in some ways. Although hail and ice can get you some good discounts on vehicles! | |||

| Oh. That white stuff all over the ground. That's hail. | ||||

| Oh ok, sorry about that! | |||

| I don't have a pic, but I have to say it was pretty impressive, drifts of hail against buildings. Must have been about the same time too. Hail stones the size of large peas, very cool | |||

| Seeing as you're in Auckland Kall, did you get that freak hailstorm a couple of years back? We were living here in Upper Queen St at the time. It must have hailed for about ten minutes, then it stopped. Clear blue skies, then hail, then clear again. And it hailed so hard that it was a foot deep up against the building, much like what javaqueen saw today. We were scooping up buckets of it and hurling it at each other. Then within 10 minutes or so it'd all melted and disappeared. Getting any sort of hail in the summer is just wrong in my books. | ||||

| We don't get any of the white stuff here any more unless you count coke then it's a bit of a problem. | ||||

Heh. Sparklechick lived on Upper Queen St when we met. I don't think she was there 2 years ago tho. | ||||

| That hail was mental, It was my Mums birthday and she was having these 2 parties at her house, we were as her children expected to attend both, and she hired all these outdoor chairs and tables and stuff and never used them, everyone was crammed inside cos of the weater, and then her deck turned white with these fairly large hail stones.... as nih said, its just wrong in Summer. | ||||

| It was fun to watch though ... quite exciting really and also just a tad crap because this time last year I was wandering around in shorts and tshirt having to put the fan on to keep cool and now I'm in tracksuit pants and polar fleece jersey with the heater on! I remember a few years ago in Kaikohe hailstones the size of golf balls fell from the sky - I had left Kaikohe at that stage but Mum was telling me that they did a lot of damage. | ||||

| Penny: Apathy is my middle name. Society would hardly progress with me riding on the backs of the weak if I failed to step up to the plate and be difficult about everything. SparkleChick: They're a nice block of apartments indeed. What was the rent like? We pay about $420 a week for three bedrooms. | ||||
