It reminds me of this clip in this robin Williams DBVD I have, he speaks about how Americans are the only ones that play their sports...so they can always win the world champs. I will find the quotes and write them out he is very funny.

Well then ED you *have* to find this DVD, it was filmed in 2002. Robin Williams Live in umm somewhere in america. I don't think I have ever laughed so much. He is very good value!

Quick story True story

In LA there is a really top comedy club. Comics heading up appear there.

This one guy finally made it. Ready to go on and the manager said Richard Prior was in the audience and wanted to do a few minutes.

So Pryor went on.

Just as he was finishing Robin Williams shows up to do a few minutes.

Then this was followed by Johnathan Winters. (Winters is considered by Williams to be his mentor!). Genius does not do Winters justice!

By now the comic is ready to go back to whatever and wherever and give it up. When he hears Winters give him an intro that others would have killed for.

Not sure who, maybe Drew Carey. But it was one of the NAME comics.

I can only imagine. How do you follow that crowd?

There's a program on Sky 1 at the moment which is like American Idol but with stand up comedians. I can't remember the name of it now. But it's hilarious ... well, some of them are. The winner of the entire show gets a spot on Comedy Central and other bits and pieces.
