| http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3405350a12,00.html Last evening, I got home from picking up Kim at the airport - about 11 pm maybe a bit later. A local talk show host named Bernie Ward was on. He has been opposed to much of the same things I am. That is well covered with a single name: dubya or shrub or George W. Bush Last evening, Bernie mentioned the 40 billion for relief and rebuilding in N. O. and that some of the congress persons did not vote on it because there is NO accounting. Just a blank check with a not "spend me". They did this in Iraq and billions have gone missing. But then George made it OK for the contractors to pay below the prevailing wage. Kind of a charity scheme for the construction companies. I looked for the article and found none. So I eMailed a friend in Nevada and he found one article describing the double dealing. And yes it is from New Zealand. Not a single news agency worthy of the title in this whole darn country (the US) . | ||||

| This just in from the minority leader of Congress - who happens to be my congress person. But voted for the Iraq war. Still nothing in the media in this country. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi September 9, 2005 Dear Friend, This week, House Democrats worked to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Today I joined Representatives Gene Green, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Al Green on Friday at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston to meet with victims of Hurricane Katrina. We thank the communities that have welcomed evacuees into their communities. House Democrats are doing our part by working to cut red tape so we can give these Americans the help they need to begin rebuilding their lives. Learn more about assisting the victims of Hurricane Katrina at http://www.house.gov/pelosi/hurricanerelief.html. For more than a week I have said the federal response must be managed by a capable leader and that Michael Brown should be removed as the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Finally, President Bush today removed Mr. Brown from managing the disaster relief effort and replaced him with Admiral Allen, an emergency response professional. However, President Bush yesterday continued his efforts to undermine workers' rights when he removed federal wage requirements in areas devastated by the hurricane. His executive order rescinded the Davis-Bacon Act, which requires federal contractors to pay workers wages that are at least equal to the prevailing wages in the area where the work is conducted. Now, employers receiving disaster assistance money can pay unfair wages to workers returning to the Gulf Coast. Now is a time to come together to rebuild and restore, not undo years of hard-won workers rights. Also this week, the Majority in Congress was less than responsive. Last Wednesday, I urged the Speaker of the House to call a special session of Congress to help the victims of this disaster, something he initially refused to do. Read the request to the Speaker of the House for a special session of Congress at http://www.house.gov/pelosi/press/re.../katrina2.html. I then called on the Speaker to immediately set up a Select Hurricane Relief Task Force to address the emergency assistance and recovery needs of the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and to investigate why the initial response fell so far short. Unfortunately, Speaker Hastert and Leader Frist chose not to create a Task Force that would give Democrats an equal number of seats at the table. This partisan proposal will not result in the objective assessment of what went wrong during the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina. Read more about the partisan panel proposed by the Majority in Congress at http://www.house.gov/pelosi/press/re...ommission.html. | Hi Ed, Another Kiwi web site to keep an eye on is www.scoop.co.nz This is another one of the sites out there with enough balls to publish what is going on in this world and broke the story on how the last two US elections were manipulated via dodgy voting machines and other practices. One story that interests me at the moment is how Venezuela (where there have been recent attempts to overthrow President Chavez - possibly by USA forces to gain access to their oil) has donated two million dollars PLUS two mobile medical units capable of attending to 150 persons each, ten water purifying plants, eight electricity generators with a capacity of 850 kilo watts each, 20 tons of bottled drinking water, 50 tons of canned food. www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0509/S00077.htm And this is from someone who we are told is a nasty man and should be toppled *cough* another Saddam *cough* ??? | ||||

Sorry Ed, but as an outsider I would suggest that average Americans like yourself are having your rights and knowledge of 'local' events taken from you. And it is being done with stealth so that this erosion is not noticed by citizens who are too busy trying to make ends meet and put food on the table. I worry that things have gone too far already and that this trend can not be reversed with anything short of a civil war which will not happen as too many have been brainwashed with the same lies so they now accept them as the truth. Is the 'New World Order' finally here?

This is really a reply to both your previous posts. I went to a meeting of the local democratic club a couple months back and the speaker was a republican pollster. He had charts and all the parphenalia of anyone doing probability and statistics. He started with the great communicator, aka Ronnie Roundworm. One of the discoveries of that administration was that the population could just be made to FEAR Nicaragua (?). So when the WTC and Pentagon events happened, the administration knew if they played the fear card, the nation would follow. And whenever he needs some backing, he brings up terrorist. This is something that almost did not exist in this country prior to the invasion of Iraq. The estimate is that the US has expended 90,000 rounds for every dead Iraqi. The people handling the money in Iraq have lost billions. Another 10 billion went missing just last week. Texas was certainly handled different than Louisiana. The youngest g'kid ask if GOD was making a second run at dubya by going after Texas? Dubya has suspended environmental laws for the gulf states. We have a lot of cleanup to do. Re stocking congress. Making sure dubya gets a fair trial in the world court. Bengladesh even sent aid! But I hear dubya is GODs man. Right, he gave Saudi a pass on sanctions about the sex slave trade for the good ole' boys. Dubya has not missed a trick. He is financing Iraq on borrowed money. If NZ is buying short term bonds, then you guys are paying for it. Big backer is China. By the way, they could arrest me for being a subversive! There are no rights in this country. Pat Robertson is just stupid.

The hassle here is that dubya wants the oil out of the hands of the communist and in the hands of some of his friends. Back in '54 the CIA had a war in Hondurus (sp). The locals wanted land reform and Unite Fruit wanted the bannanas at slave wages. The CIA killed the elected president and put in their own guy. Also, did you know that there was no Panama prior to the US being refused by Columbia to build the canal? So we declared the Panama Zone free of Columbia and made it a US Territory. My daughter sent the attachment. But it reminds me, I need some gaS.
