My grandkids are in swimming lessons. The local public pools offer lessons at 1.50 per lesson. So we double up for the three and the price is $9.

Eddie, 13, has been at it longest. And is at level 7. In the American Red Cross system, his next step is instructor or life guard.

Briall, 10, goddess of the realm, is at level 5.

Mo, 9, is at level 4 (as of today).

He had been held back for a lazy back arm on the crawl. But swim he does and now they are all in the deep end of the pool.

I have gone the distance on the lessons and can see what an empowerment this is for them.

I could not be more pleased.

I used to be in swimming club at school.

It was great. Handy that I lived across the road from the High School and my Mum worked there so I got access to the pool whenever I wanted to.
