| Gentlemen: How did you propose? Or, how do you plan on proposing? Gentlewomen: How were you proposed to? Or, how would you like to be proposed to? | ||||

| Well, I was working away from home. We hadn't been seeing each other for that long but I'd decided that she was the one for me (not in a stalker/living in the bins way) so came home mid week at about 11pm. I phoned her from the train and asked if she'd pick me up from the station. We drove to a nice seaview carpark on a lovely warm starry night. I then proceeded to interrogate her as to how she felt about me and where our relationship was going. Once I was satisfied that I wasn't get knocked back I asked her to marry me. And she said yes. It was all very romantic except for the interrogation bit. | ||||

| I don’t often tell this one because people understandably think I am making it up, I sometimes think I must have dreamt it but then I look at the key ring and the ribbon and remember that, at least once in my life, I was a very, very lucky woman. My boyfriend and I lived on different continents so didn’t see each other as much as we would have liked. We might as well also have lived on different planets as he was seriously rich and I was a poverty stricken struggling student. However, that was never an issue and most of the stuff we enjoyed didn’t cost anything anyway ![]() After one especially nice visit he took me for a walk through the local park the afternoon before he was due to fly home. We got to what we had always called “our” park bench and sat down. He scrabbled behind his back with something for a moment then handed me a key ring with 3 keys on it. There was also a length of red ribbon attached to the keying and he suggested I follow it. I did. The ribbon went out of the park and along the street a bit then went through a garden gate and up to the door of a house. I was puzzled but he told me to try the keys. One fitted the lock of the house and we went in. The ribbon wound through every room of this beautiful empty house then lead me out through a door in the kitchen to the garage. Key 2 fitted the lock to a red Italian sports car! The end of the ribbon was tucked into a little wooden box on the seat of the car. I opened it with the final key and as I lifted the ring out he asked me to marry him. The rest is another story………. | ||||

| Wow. How romantic! I've never been proposed to. To me, it doesn't really matter where I was proposed to .... somewhere special to me would be nice though. ![]() | ||||

Wait. I remember. We were just kicking around after a night out and I proposed as a joke. Didn't actually expect her to say yes... Seemed like a good idea at the time at least Once I got the ring made and everything I did actually drop to one knee and be a gentleman So she got asked twice hehe ![]() | ||||
