| Anyone using MSN messenger 7.0 (or probably others) with Messenger Plus!, if asked to update to the latest version of Plus!, decline. I updated Plus! this morning and my IE browser was hijacked. Several malware applications were installed onto my PC. Not my AVG nor any of the other spyware programs picked it up. I am now attempting to remove the malware, but thought it would be nice to let y'all know that the latest update of messenger contains spyware. Last edited by kall; 16-Apr-2005 at 06:38 AM. | ||||

| As an update: The main bastard was a version of lop .. my IE window had a series of tabs at the top: mp3 gambling finance etc and a pop up bar at the bottom of my screen. In my Application Data folder there were new folders with stupid names like Baba Pool and similar. | ||||

| That sucks, but I've never trusted MSN.. so I've never used it. I've had my fair share of malware problems.. and had to spend 2 days on a HJT forum to clean my pc ![]() | ||||

| I told a few people about what you said Kall, and got jumped on like you wouldn't believe.. they accused me of giving out false info and everything! They eventually admitted the malware from from an MSN Addon.. I can't wait until their systems crash so I can say "I told you so" | ||||

| I do have to admit I thought it was MSN themselves to begin with, but it is Plus! (the addon) that comes with all the malware. | ||||
