| We don't get jeopardy over here Ed. In fact we don't get any American TV game shows at all. We're all about buying American reality TV shows ... apparently the NZ public loves them. *thinks of how many American reality TV shows Sparkle watches* ![]() | ||||

| You know NZ is pretty much resposible for allot of those reality TV shows... its either a NZer behind it, or that company touchdown, they think up the ideas for allot and sell them on. Or NZ does like a small program with it and then another country takes it further. I think maybe Americans are just funnier to watch. | ||||

| It is a trivia game. www.jeopardy.com is their site. But the rules have changed a bit. There are 3 levels to each game. Each answer must be in the form of a question. Level 1 is fairly easy. This level is Jeopardy. 6 categories of questions. 5 questions per category. Value of each question, 1 thru 5, is $200 through $1000. One question in the 30 is a wild card and the contestant can bet any amount up to their holdings or to the max value of the game they are in. Level 2 a bit tougher. This is Double Jeopardy. Twice the amounts of level 1. Final Jeopardy Bet any amount up to holdings. If negative , you are out. "Island nation home to the Kiwi". What is New Zealand? and so on. Each contestant buzzes in. First, in gets the question if wrong, someone else may buzz in or not. Get the question, get the cash added to your total. Only the high total keeps the cash. Runner ups get other prizes. A week in Singapore, etc. High total returns for the next game. Go for as many games until you lose. The current champ is going for 20 games tonight. Averaging over $30K per game. Way more money than anyone else has ever done. | ||||

| Why would they have cheated on the millionaire thing? Oh, yeah. "70% of the earths surface is covered with dirt, concrete, plastic or water. Let me think about this. Can I call a friend? Hey, Charlie, whats them globe things made of? Cardboard? Not a choice, got you on that one. Dirt, the answer is dirt. They probably are not cheating. It is the number one quiz type show. There is no percentage for them to cheat. They would kill their own ratings. But then the 64,000 dollar question got caught cheating. I don't know. But the reality tv thing is imposible to fake. Eating a pound of maggots is a bit too real for me. | ||||

| Yeah those contestants in the UK cheated on who wants to be a millionaire, they sorted out some sort of singal, and his wife was in the audience and coughed so many times or something depending on the answer. I watched this documentary on it. They showed a whole lot of other ways people tried to cheat aswell. They got caught because when they came to do the editing to put the show on TV the sound guys noticed there was a higher than usual audience sound they were having to quiet down or edit out or whatever... It was quite interesting, if it wasn't for that they would have pulled it off. | ||||

| Twenty one. Was the name of the game where Charles Van Doren got caught out. Here is the script I found. http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/Q/...uizshowsca.htm Well, the guy did it again. Makes me long for the 5 wins and out days. | ||||

There was a huge fuss about it. I also remember the one when the contestant got the answer right but they told him he was wrong. I can't remember what the question was now but I think from memory there were two right answers. They ended up bringing him back on the show (he was up to about 120k I think) to finish the game off - he didn't win the million though. | ||||
