Ex first lady sees Katrina's good side

As president Bush battled criticism over the response to Hurrican Katrina, his mother declard it a success for evacuees who "were underprivileged anyway," saying many of the poor she had seen while touring a Houston relocation site were faring better than before the storm hit.

And it goes on.

These people have all the compassion of pit bulls when faced with a raw steak.

For those who do not know, New Orleans was hit by a Hurricane. The winds in the storm were in excess of 160 mph. The economic impact will be about 1% of the total gnp of the nation with as many as 400,000 lost jobs.

And these jerks make jokes?

Kall and the others know how opposed to the war in Iraq I am and have always been.

Hey Ed ...

We've been watching it here in NZ - the hurricane has received loads of coverage on our TV stations.

I'm personally disgusted with the delay in the government helping the people of New Orleans. I think if this has happened to somewhere like The Hamptons a lot more would have been done a lot sooner and less lives would have been lost.

*shakes head*

Totally right.

This evening, the head of FEMA (former horse farm manager turned disaster relief guru and good buddy of George), planned to have 1000 people on the scene in 48 hours and 4000 on the scene in 7 days.

When ask what that would have done, he said, "we wanted to present the appearance of doing disaster relief".

I will bring the tar, someone get the feathers.

Had it been Florida, relief would have been quick. But this is a place where the average person has no college, average wage is 22 K and no one voted for George.

But a prediction. I will bet 5 cents (that is my max bet for a long time now) that some republican, possibly Jeb Bush, will be the next president.
