Don't you hate it when you have all these realllly interesting things on your to do list, that you can't wait to do, but you just can't, until you get the boring things done!! grrr It so annoys me.

At the moment its Map book updates, we have about 50 map books, each have to have about 50 map pages updated!! It is so boring, plus I have to go and nag the guys to bring their books in. Atleast this year we could use the colour photocopier so I don't have to sort the pages too!

Then you go and do somethintg so stupid like I did. I printed out 1 page and checked it was OK, checked it would photocopy, showed a couple of other people, all agreed, so went ahead and printed out the rest of the pages, then, photocopied 30 copies for starters, so that was 1500 pages, started updating the first book and realised I had left the roads off it!!

Man I just wanted to curl up and go to sleep for a long long time.

I did manage to save it, they are not perfect, but I was able to photocopy the roads onto the plans, there was some hair pulling as pages that have already been copied on to don't like the photocopier....

so anyway here I am bored as hell, cos updating map books really doesn't get my mind going!

And how would you have done that? I can't think of one resonable reason, the only one would be that the Chief engineer didn't seem to think it was a problem (In fact he didn't even notice) but that would be null and void immediatley becuase the come back is that hes been here for like 25 years or something and knows the area off by heart.

I don't want to be "let" win! That would defeat the whole purpose.

I would love to challenge you but I have to atleast do some work at the same time, and I get distracted by them, where as message boards it doesn't matter if it sits there doin nothing for a while.

I know what you mean.

I have been in a meeting since 9.00am - it was supposed to finish at 12.00 and then we were going to lunch at the pub to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of one of our team members. WELL, because my lot has verbal diarhhoea we weren't nearly finished at 12.00 so we (they) decided to cancel lunch at the pub and order in some pizza and work through lunch ... yippee thought me ... THEN the meeting carried on until 2.30 - so I haven't had a break all day AND the meeting was excessively boring.

Thank goodness I wasn't asked to stay for the meeting that finishes at 5.30pm ...

atleast I decided to liven up my day by getting in the middle of all the crap! yay!

It is pretty awful especially when they don't listen to me. They like to include me but I think they'd rather that I just sat there and took all the notes than actually contribute to the conversation.

On a plus side though, I had a very yummy chicken & bacon salad from Hell's pizza for lunch.

ahh well looks like the should have picked someone else for the job if they wanted that.

I managed to liven up my afternoon by getting into a conversation with my old boss. We used to have these big long conversations but hardly get the chance to speak now, so I went to tell him something funny that happened to me in the weekend. So it started with us talking about how I embarrassed myself in front of the mayor of Manukau in the weekend (a whole other story in it self!) and ended with us discussing how the issues in South African began. Rather interesting I must say!

I know exactly what you mean about having to do the boring things - when you have other cool stuff you could be doing.

I just bought a new game today, and I can't play it yet :'( 'cause I gotta finish a horrible programming assignment, which is taking me FOREVER, and I really, really want to play games!!!

and now the game is looking at me, saying - "Plaaaaaay meeeee!"

and I really should be doing my assignment, and not posting :P

You won't be able to concentrate on your assignment until you've had at least one go at it.

Now, the big challenge is ... can you pause the game for a wee while and be able to go back to your assignment?
