Hunter Apologises To Azaria's Parents

A man who claims to have kept quiet for nearly 25 years about the death of Azaria Chamberlain has apologised to her parents.

Frank Cole says he found the baby's body in the mouth of a dingo he had shot at near Uluru, Ayer's Rock, in 1980.

The 78-year-old says he did not come forward at the time as he was hunting illegally in the national park.

He believes one of the three companions he was with took Azaria's body back to Melbourne, and buried her in a garden.

Mr Cole has publicly apologised on TV for not coming forward sooner and says he is terribly sorry if he ruined the lives of Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton and her then husband, Michael.

Mrs Chamberlain-Creighton was jailed for life in 1982 for baby Azaria's murder but was freed from jail in 1986 and officially pardoned in 1987.

Northern Territory police have confirmed they will be interviewing Mr Cole and investigating his claims.

The other hunting companions who were with Mr Cole on the night he alleges he found Azaria have since died.

So what do you think?? I think its bloody disgusting if it is true that he can go this many years and let her go to jail for it.

But just becuase the baby was found with the dingo does that mean it was killed by the dingo?

What would be worse is if he is making all of this up.

Have they found the body and confirmed it to be Azaria's?

It's pretty shocking that the original jury was unable to find reasonable doubt if there wasn't any real evidence to say that Lindy had done it.

"Yeah...me and my 3 mates (who are all unfortunately dead, and therefore unable to corroborate my claim) were out hunting and we saw a dingo eating a human baby. None of us found this at all worthy of commenting on to anyone, until now."
