Question Here Us Another Poll

Just Another Poll

I GO TO A SPECIAL CAMP FOR ONE WEEK EVERY JUNE. IT IS CALLED CAMP FATIMA WHICH IS AN ALL BOYS CAMP EXCEPT THE FIRST WEEK BECAUSE IT IS SPECIAL NEEDS WEEK WHERE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES OF ALL AGES COME FOR ONE FUN FILLED WEEK EVERY SUMMER. IT WAS MY THIRTEENTH YEAR GOING THIS YEAR AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD MIGRAINES ALL WEEK I STILL HAD FUN. GOING TO THIS CAMP FOR THE WEEK IS GREAT B/C I DON'T GET TREATED LIKE I AM AN ALIEN BECAUSE OF MY DISABILITIES. WHAT KIND OF CAMP DO YOU GO TO?

(hey Jeni, can you try to not write all in captial letters, its reallly hard to read sweetie

Its a shame that you get treated as an alien becuase of your disabilities! I thought the world was moving past that type of attitude.

I try to get away from Auckland. Summer over here is during our Christmas time so most people probably spend it with their families celebrating Christmas and New Year.

Camps can be lots of fun.

The grandkids went to Silvertree day camp for a week. With three of them in, it is a bit of money. They had a lot of fun. Some projects. Lots of hiking and cook outs.

The camp is only maybe a mile away from out house. Right in the middle of San Francisco

The police academy uses the area as a physical fitness training area. Lots of full grown Eucalyptus trees.

A funny thing was that the area was getting a bit of poison ivy and lots of weeds (dry) and low brush. So the parks department hired this guy with 200 goats to bring them in and clean out the brush. They went through like a brush hog on a mission. A brush hog is like a heavy duty lawn mower.

But they also took the bark up to 7 feet off the ground.

Real eating machines.

Goats work so well that there are several herds in operation in the bay area.

Reduces the fire danger.

Jeni2004 I am very glad that you are happy with the camp. What kind of things do they offer in the camp and which ones do you enjoy most.

I am really sorry about the migranes. I have been lucky to not have the problem.

Peace

I usually work.
In the time that I do have off, it is mostly spent at a beach or outside doing sweet FA.

Who wants to take me for a spin on there yacht this year??

they have arts and crafts, party barge(boat ride), life guard trainning, sand castles, volleyball, soccer, basketball, kickball, movie(if rainning), dance, chapel, talent show, luau, bon fire, olympics, and all sorts of other activities. we sleep there for a whole week. it is fun getting to leave the parents for a whole week and they don't have to worry about you getting hurt or not getting your meds.
