It is fun.

I just kind of fell into it. I started working for Counties Power as a student doing some horrible work, but it involved GIS so I got to know it a bit then, then for about a year I did other stuff, and the person doing my job left and so I applied and go it.

My background was that they knew me, and that I had studied for a couple of years doing business computing.

They sent me to training in the specifc GIS system we use and everything else I learn as I go.

Some people do courses at uni in it though.

There's nothing here for us to do becuase we just moved into a new building.

Plus no one calls a help desk on a weekend night.

But I am working on a couple of projects of my own. So I think I'm going to start doing some of that now...Only problem with that is as soon as the phone rings my train of thought is gone.
