| I just got quoted over $200 to have my hair done. My hair comes to below the shoulders and I usually get a couple of colours put in it. Apparent the breakdown goes like this: Approx $60 for the cut Approx $70 for highlights Approx $80 for a full colour She quoted over $200 though because she said that with my hair being so long it would probably be more expensive. I told her their prices were ridiculous and hung up on her. | ||||

| I went out and bought one of those hairdressing kits with the clippers etc from The Warehouse cost me a whole $30, so I never have to pay for a haircut again. I just have to trust my Wife not to screw it up. ![]() | ||||

| Dad? Is that you? ![]() He did exactly the same thing...it actually comes out quite well. I mean, there's no offer of hairgel and a little lolly afterwards, but the haircut is usually even and acceptable to look at. | ||||

| This is interesting. In the UK I pay £60, which is about $155 for a really good colour and cut and this is considered a very reasonable price here. I have friends who pay around $400 for the same sort of thing at Central London salons. What do you girls pay for a facial or a manicure? | ||||
| ||||
| (Note: I am a guy. Our hairdressing prices are waaaaaaaay lower than you girls' .. even for those of us who are hippies and have waist-length hair. )*edit* I do not have waist-length hair either. ![]() | ||||

| I've never had a facial or manicure .... well actually I have but I was the model for a friend studying for her exams ... she was very good and passed with flying colours and I got a free facial, manicure, pedicure the works! It was FABULOUS. Well, I've booked myself into a salon just down the road from work ... $175 it will cost but who cares, it's only money. I'd rather give it to this lady - Ursula - than to Rodney Wayne! Ursula came recommended by one of my work colleagues. I guess I could go somewhere cheaper or do the colour myself but I don't go to the hairdresser very often so it's a bit of a treat. I hope I get someone who gives good head massages. The best head massage I got was from an extremely gay guy called Curtis in a salon in Ponsonby. He was soooooo good. | ||||

| I had very long hair until quite recently and didn't need to go to the hairdressers very often. Since it was cut to above my shoulders I go every few weeks, I love the whole relaxation thing now. Sparklechick, head massages, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. yes. Note to Kall, didn't mean to imply you were a girl. So what do you guys pay for facials and manicures ![]() | ||||
| ||||
| Manicures are anywhere between $20 - $30 (more if you go somewhere ponsy schmonsy) Facials are around the $60 mark at most places I think. I have been given vouchers a few times for free facials etc and I've never got round to using them. Stupid me. When I had my first facial I realised what I'd been missing out on! | ||||

Then I found out that facials and hairdressers are cheaper than therapy ![]() | ||||
