Default The Funky Cars Thread

We saw this car on the way up North on the weekend, and Sparklechick grabbed a shot of it:

What's the weirdest looking car you have seen recently?

Attach or link to a picture of it if you can.

Wow, I'm surprised the pic came out as well as it did.

You must have a good camera Kall

I haven't seen any funny cars. But what was funny, is we were leaving for the funeral from her home yesterday and one of the guys cars bogged up and wouldn't go anywhere and so we were all running around in our really good clothes trying to get this car un bogged finding bits of wood and stuff. I turned up to the church with mud up my leg!

There used to be "the rhino car". It was a morris mini with a hugh fiberglass rhino horn.

Then there was a "claw car'. It had all these little stuffed toys from bar rooms that were captured with a claw.

What is that thing on top - some kind of crown? It is odd.

I think your mystery car is a pre 65 dodge modified as a Variety Club 'bash-mobile' with sponsorship from Bruger King.
But I can't find a pic to confirm the model and year tho

A funky car I see regularly on my commute to Tauranga is a BMW Isetta.

The thing looks a hard case, cruising along the road, obviously going flat knackers (probably about 70kmph, with about 75% of the car on the shoulder side of the white line)

Bugger driving it on a windy day though!

(for those not in the know ... it is a "bubble car" http://www.bmwworld.com/models/vintage/isetta.htm)

When I was in Germany, that was one of the more popular cars.

Another was the Messerschmidt.

The Isetta opened for passengers by a single door opening to the front. The messerschmidt opened like a figher plane cockpit. It also seated two . I googled but did not find a messerschmidt. Several Isetta.

Another odd car was the Ford Mustang I. Not the Mustang II but the Mustang I.

Lee Iacocca was a marketing wizard. Me built two Mustang I proto type cars. All the bells and whistles. Such necessities as 2 reverse gears. Top speed backward, 50 mph. Built in roll bar, and a hundred more things.

Then he took the top choices and built the Ford Mustang . Cannot locate a photo but it was HOT. Ah, ebay had a photo.
