Default Eddies new school

A couple of weeks ago, I was anxious about Eddies high school.

We had him in a good school in a safe place.

They moved the school to the murder and drug center of the city.

And I mentioned it here. Sparklechick suggested trying to move him.

We did and he will be going to a school called Excel. They have been in the Presidio of San Francisco (now a national park since the military moved out).

The school is very much a college prep with a more rounded class pursuit.

It is a small school. Maybe 100 students per grade level. Maybe they will hold him to the grindstone. He has been a bit unfocused of late.

Hormones and such.

Thank god my teen years are just a fading, bitter memory.

A bitter memory? How so?

I look fondly back on my teenage years. My high school was relatively small (about 300 pupils) and we were all pretty close. We used to have a great time terrorising the teachers.

There were a variety of comments that were directed at me. I had bad skin. And was sensitive to comments like, "Is that a gunshot wound or have you been popping zits again". No, I shall forego the experience.

Kids can be so cruel sometimes. When I was in primary school I was beaten up when I got glasses, oh, and because I was white (most of the kids at my school were maori).

It is a mixed victory.

A generation from now Eddie will be reading the papers about the horrid conditions in the projects and how they are so rife with need and crime.

Murders, rape, most males temporary (either in jail, prison, court or near a vilation of release.

Just this morning I heard that one in 75 males adults are behind bars.

For me it is good but in reality only puts the problems off another day.
