I found it quite interesting that they kept going on about how "a maori is marrying into the royal family" ... NOT New Zealander but Maori.

The Royals must be feeling a bit infiltrated now ... they have an Aussie and a Kiwi in the midst now.

Yes, well I spose that is true, that it is a Maori, I was commenting to one of the guys this morning that he was rather good looking, and I told them, as the NZ representative in the royal family, hes doing NZ men proud.

Its quite good they are allowed to marry jo Bloggs, cos I thought you had to come from some fancy family or other to marry into the royal family.

If I was part of the royal family I'd try and enter the witness protection program, get a new name and Identity or something, anything to aviod connection with them!

I was thinking the same thing, its like hes got two heads or something. I think it would have been better if they described him as a kiwi bloke rather than a Maori marrying a Royal.

Default Isn't it strange?

I find it amusing that the people who rant about being called "European" and "Pakeha" and want to be called NZers always will quite happily walk around calling other people by their ethnicity, no matter whether they are New Zealanders or not.

The reaction to the wedding in the NZ press is so typical of this attitude.

I love emoticons.

The media do it with everything, whenever something good happens in South Auckland, it gets referred to as Manuaku, or whatever the suburb happens to be. If it is something bad, it is reffered to as South Auckland. That annoys me becuase what it does is leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths whenever they hear the words South Auckland.

Yeah, and I notice that when something bad happens over on the North Shore; ie the excessive amount of tinny houses in Birkdale, they refer to it as Birkdale, but don't really mention the fact that it's the North Shore! Oh no, North Shore people wouldn't be doing drugs ... uh uh ... no way
