| So you walking in town and you see someone you know. Not well, but you know them all the same(so we are not talking your best friend here), do you stop and say Hi how you doing? or do you walk past with a little acknowledgement? or just walk past and hope they don't see you? I stop and say Hi how you doing, and have a yak. I had just assumed most people do this, but it appears not, so what do you do? | ||||

| Yeah, it does depend on the person but more so on my mood that day. Usually if I meet colleagues when out we just nod or say "Hi" and carry on our separate ways. Old collage lecturers I tend to stop and chat with. Sometimes I run into people I was on training courses with, you know, the sort you'd rather never meet again. Well, they're also the start that latch onto you and start a'yammering. There I am trying to slip away, anywhere really, and they're on about how they get paid to do no work on day release and push unwanted (unneeded) insurance on hapless old biddies the rest of the time. Sorry, what was the question again? | ||||

| In the neighborhood yes. I know everyone, well, lots of folks. They think I am nuts til they get to know me. Most of the new neighbors are yuppie. | ||||

| It definitely depends on who the person is. Almost every time I go into the city I bump into old workmates from a company that I never liked being at. The people there were really awful. BUT, if they see me on the street they always come up to me and ask how everything is going. I hardly spoke to these people when I worked there, why on earth would I want to talk to them now? I've stopped going into Smith & Caugheys around lunchtime now because that's where I normally get trapped .... I have in some instances (normally when I'm grocery shopping) tried to avoid people so I don't have to talk to them. I remember not long ago that Kall and I were hiding from some guy that I once knew (my best friend's ex boss) so I didn't have to say hello ... it was quite amusing. | ||||

| I have only ever hidden from one person before. But that is becuase he rung CP for me and he only ever does that if he wants something, and so the manager in Customer care told him I was on my break, and then I was walking through Customer Care to say thanks to her and I saw him pulling into the car park and coming through the door so I ran to her office and said "**** hes here!" lol. She said, oh well just sit down on the floor under the desk for a minute or two. Lol so I did, but I was laughing quite a bit by then, and we thought he would only be like 2 few minutes, but he used to work here, and so everyone that went by would stop to have yak with him, and he took forever to move, we couldn't see how to get me out of her office without him seeing me, it was acutally really funny. But I quite often see him on the street and will stop and say hi how you doing, I just can't not. I think its rude. When my work friends and I go up town for lunch, they reckon that they allow an extra 15 minutes to allow me to stop and say Hi to everyone I know. There is one person I wont talk to. its pretty hard becuase he works here, but anyway thats a whole other story. But I do it, its really hard when he says Hi to me to just not respond. | ||||
