Just sent the following email out to the webmaster@ all of the domains I found one runboard linking from:

They could have done what I did and just save them instead of linking to them.

You could have just made images that said "This image has been stolen from www.nzboards.com please come and join us rather than supporting bandwidth theives" and renamed your current image set (or changed folders) and replaced the old one with the image made.

No need to replace image sets to do that.

Just specify a rewrite rule that states that if the requesting site is not NZB then send them something else instead.
e.g. your "come and join us" message.

I do believe that is the approach take here only with an insult instead of an invitation.

I wonder if it is possibe to rewrite so that only runboard.com gets the filthy bandwidth thief one, and other people just get a red x...

I got this from the people who admin all of the runboards:

What is the URL at runboard.com where your images are hotlinked from?

Must be a user that did it, most likely unknowingly.

I find it hard to believe that these people are unaware of what they are doing, as almost ALL of their smilies are hotlinked.

I have taken the liberty of emailing all of the admins of the sites that I could find on that page to let them know what these people are doing.
