Hi, im looking at moving to Auckland but dont really know too much ablut Auckland. If anyone can tell me of areas to avoid and/or look for with regards to renting that would be great.

Also any ideas on pricing for 1 - 2 bedroom places. Rural is ok too.

If you don't mind Rural, I would suggest West Auckland, or the more out-of-the-way parts of the shore.

It all depends. What kind of price are you looking at spending per week?

Yeah rural is ok, traveling isnt a problem, im used to it as i live out in the sticks.

Prob looking to pay around the $200 mark maybe up to $250 but the cheaper the better obviously. Whats a good newpaper for Auckland rentals? Is the Herald Auck or Welly?

Try the NZ Herald classifieds or www.flathunt.co.nz or www.flatfinder.co.nz OR go to www.crockers.co.nz. We rent our place through Crockers and they are very good.

You probably won't find anything in the central areas for the price you are looking at if you want a 2 bedroom.

West Auckland and Albany (North Shore) perhaps would be your best bet probably.
