Bush pushed for the constitutional ammendment prohibiting same sex marriage.

They pulled out the stops. Next people would be marrying their pets, no telling what odd diseases we might have to fight.

But it was defeated.

I don't have any problem with same sex marriage.

I think a lot of gay couples would make great parents - better parents than some heterosexual couples - we have to get with the times. People are a lot more accepting of gay relationships nowadays.

My cousin is gay, he is in a relationship with another guy (who is really lovely), they own property together, animals etc etc ... I could easily see them with a child ... they would be wonderful parents.

The beauty of the defeat is that he (Bush) was interfering. And it did not need interfering with.
