| The rain got really loud all of a sudden... I went outside, and it was cold! Little white things were bouncing on the ground. | ||||
| ||||
| It's thundering over in town here too. The hail has stopped now. Am glad I sorted out getting a lift home with one of the guys from work. I don't think my brolly would have been able to handle the sort of stormy weather we are getting out there today. Buggery cold in the office too .... one of the bad things about sitting next to a window. | ||||

| In the middle of the hail (or at least the first hail, its done it about four times now), lightning hit somewhere nearby. Im guessing it was the Sky tower, judging by the fact that a whole heap of radio stations went down, followed by a hell of a thunder roll. Man, you should have seen people jump, sounded for all the world like an explosion. Ahhh tropical Auckland. | ||||

| My boss said he saw fork lightning coming down around the Sky Tower. Said it was the first time he had ever seen fork lightning in Auckland. Spooky ![]() | ||||

| They were talking on the radio about these hail "storms" on my way home. I'm not sure where the word storm should come in, becuase it was just a little bit of hail each time. In Wellington when it hailed it hailed, and the whole gorund would be white. Anyway I digress... They were saying it snowed in town today. just a little bit with the last hail "storm" there were these white flakes.. lol what a load of croc was what I thought and well still think. But lots of people were ringing up saying it. The computer network went down at work, and all the phones.. noone could ring in. I reckon Lightning hit the mast at work, and did something... I just had to sit round twiddling my thumbs most the afternoon. | ||||

| I managed to get to and from work yesterday without getting wet - and yes, I was walking! I managed to also get to work this morning without getting wet. I'm not keeping my hopes up for this afternoon though ... | ||||

well umm it hasn't really here. The ground is dry too, in most places, only wet where the sun hasn't hit it yet.

The guy predicts the weather by the moon and has discovered that there is a 7 year pattern to the weather that is tied into the moons phases. He also publishes an almanac of NZ's weather a year at a time. Supposedly he is more correct than the official met service. Worth checking out anyway (espeically if you are bored at work).

| Oooh.... Boredom defeating! *applauds* | ||||
| ||||
| me bored?? no never! ![]() I put in here a few links to some websites displaying information on the net from their weather stations, its quite interesting to take a look at sometimes. But I lots it all as it wouldn't submit my post. I'll find them again later and post them. *Kall flies in with magic editing wand* I'll have a look at it later on... Theres a couple of guys round this area that have their own weather stations and publish the results on a website (we have one here at work thats published on the intranet) One up the Manukau Heads and one in Waiuku. I work with one of the Waiuku guys. They all use the same program to publish their results. http://ps.gen.nz/~hamgap/waiuku.htm http://ps.gen.nz/~patten/Waiuku.htm http://tokaanuskihire.co.nz/pukekohe/pukekohe.htm (I work with this guy too) http://www.weather-display.com/windy/otherdat.htm | ||||

| Well no. Except a decent electric/gas heater. But in the case of a gas one, that is fire. Hmm...what if I was to throw some pieces of paper on the heater? *goes off to try this out* | ||||
