Default this 55 year old chick having a baby

I mean, really, if she can then good for her, why are they saying that shes replusive?

I have only read snippets and heard the adverts for 60 minutes, but I don't understand it, if shes happy then why is it anyone elses business?

My first thoughts are for her safety and the childs, not knowing a whole heap about it all, I understand having a child in your later years can be quite risky business.

What about the child? Surely there are issues. When the child hits its teenage years the mother will be rapidly approaching 70. THe kid will probably be motherless by the time it reaches 20...

Just a thought

Yes, I thought about that too, but then I remembered a mate of mine, when we were 17 his father was 75. He had to help him blow his nose, when I asked him if it bothered him, he said that it didn't and he just accepted it. And so I didn't see it as quite an issue.

Cool Re: this 55 year old chick having a baby

ironic you had a good point there about the motherless issue. why would you want to have a kid if you can't be there for when they get married and have kids of their own

Yeah, I agree with Ironic as well.

It would be bloody hard having a Mum that was really old and knowing that by the time you reach 25 (or earlier maybe) your Mum will possibly be dead.

In saying that though, I had a friend who's Mum was really old, I remember going over to her place and mentioned something about her Grandmother, and my friend had to tell me that the person I was referring to was actually her Mum. She had older brothers that were they same age as my parents! They took more care of her than her mother did I think. It was quite an embarrassing situation though.

I can see the point about being motherless at that age, BUT the alternative was for your mother to not have you and therefore you don't exist. I think it is just something you would accept in life and be able to move on with, and probably be stronger for it.
