| Hi Jeni He spent a lot of time learing little bits of facts about things and the show is a match for the talent he has. If I had the money, would I use it correctly? Hard to say. I suppose the first thing is to make sure the money makes changes only where you want changes made. But also that those changes have been thought through and you/I/whoever is ready for those changes. I worked with a guy who won the lottery. That is a big drawing for lots of money. He won $5.6 million dollars. One day some of our group was at lunch and the cafeteria was almost empty. He came in, got his food and did not want to sit alone. So he sat with us. We ask lots of questions and here are some of them. Why are you still working. What else would I do? I love my job. Why leave? How did the money change things? Paid all the bills including home loan. Bought a car for my wife, a car for me. Set up a tuition fund for the kids college. And have two great vacations a year. Invested the rest and it has grown to just over $10 million. So, here was a couple who, when they got money, used it to improve their lot but not change their life. peace | ||||

| The California lottery has been around for a while now and lots of winners have been quite able to dive through 4 or 5 or 10 million in just a couple of years. Coming out the otherr side just a miserable as before and one even said we owed them the life they had while wallowing in the swill. No happiness there. I usually buy a $1 ticket for a draw. If I won, I would fix the house. maybe add on, set up education allotments for the grandkids. And fly off to NZ for a fish dinner with you guys! Now that would be COOL. | ||||

| I guess it depends on what sort of person you are. I wouldn't think that winning a large amount of money would change me that much. I'd just have much nicer things and be ultra generous with my friends. I don't think I'd continue was I was doing work-wise ... I'd probably do A LOT of travelling ... there are lots of places that Kall and I would like to visit. | ||||

| Sparklechick Most folks I know would make some changes but they would not be trying to "buy a new life". Pretty much where you are. Trogg I have my own thoughts about that as well. Here it is to go to school, prizes, operating costs. I kind of wonder. There is certainly enough money to make it a target. Twice a week dwgs. Saturday and Wednesday. Starts at 7 mil if no winner extimate is 10 mil, if no winner 13 or 14, then 18 to 20 and so on. http://www.calottery.com/ Note that it is at 10. There was no winner on Wednesday. Thus the roll over. | ||||

| Our lottery is slightly more pathetic than that but then we don't have as many people contributing to it. I'm sure the prize pot could be bigger though - if you win fifth division (you get 3 balls + the bonus ball) you get a measly $16 or thereabouts. Not really worth the cost of the ticket really. | ||||

| Yeah, its people and the betting. But it rolls up real fast. No winner for a month and we are at 50 mil, none for 6 weeks and we are at 80. The people thing. The San Francisco bay area is twice the population of NZ. I don't know how many are in La la land. Their idea of answering a question with a question goes so. What color is blue? What's color? Oh, heavy dude. | ||||

| Hey Ed, When you win I will be expecting you for dinner.... I'll even cook the fish for ya (I'm not going noodling for it tho'!) | ||||

| penny and nitefenix It all sounds good. Something to play for and knowing what a heavy bet I play the odds of being hit by lightning, while riding in a plane, being crushed by a train, that was hit by a satellite is almost as likely. And this for trogg, while having my nipple bit off by a beaver. | ||||

| OR Mr Fenix, instead of saving up to go to nambia, you come to NZ, (or just start buying Lotto tickets) and we can have the great NZB fish cook-up... hahahaOK Ed, well expect you here soon, a little burnt, and squashed, and nippleless... but here all the same! ![]() | ||||

| I would not recommend anyone buy lottery tickets. The odds are way too long. In fact, gambling is not recommended. Note that my bet on lottery is ONE dollar. My normal personal bet, and the last one of those was 5 or 6 years ago, is 5 cents. I have a friend who lost about 10 or 11 bets and then finally won one and framed the 5 cent piece, complete with a small placqe. I am not a gambler. | ||||

| I've never brought a lotto ticket, the odd instant kiwi has been given to me, but I'd rather put my $5 per week (I think thats the min you can spend on lotto in NZ) into a jar and then have the money at some other time. | ||||

| I'm about the same Penny. I very rarely buy a lotto ticket. I've never won anything the times I have bought tickets. I know that you have to be in to win but I never seem to win so I'd rather use my money for something else or save it for a holiday or something. | ||||
