Many years ago, Mike Bandfield would be installing telephone equipment in some small town in middle America. Run into a problem and call me in the middle of the night. I was Supervisor of System Engineering for the company Mike worked for. We would work through the problem.

We became friends.

He is a good guy. Very thoughtful. Very bright.

The site.

It is one of those sites that you have to dig around in and you will find little things to take with you and you will leave thoughts for others.

Kind of like this site. We don't know, yet know, each other. In a way we are each other. We live, love, learn, are compashionate, are abrasive, are caring. All of these things, and more, are what mike's site is about.

It is often called APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day). Astronomers from all over the world submit their work to Nemiroff (a working astronomer and professor in Michigan or Minnesoto)

In the upper left of the screen, there is a link to the index of all APODs and it is very large.
