Default Elephant Garlic

Here in my state of Oregon, the elephant garlic is ready to be harvested....each year I like to have new recipes from around the world to enjoy this wonderful season....any one want to contribute?

I'm sure Kall will have a few recipes for you.

He gets extra large garlic (not sure if it's called elephant garlic over here) from up north somewhere. It's not quite as potent as the smaller stuff.

Do you have any pics of your garlic you can post KJM7?

I will work on getting some pics of the garlic.....not my favorite model for my photographs, but I will see if I cannot capture some candid moments. Ha ha ha.

We have garlic in Gilroy California but this is lots bigger. Seems to me.

Crikey!

They're a lot bigger than the ones here. The ones that Kall gets from up north are probably about the size of a baseball, which is a lot larger than the normal garlic you can buy but a lot smaller than the elephant garlic you've got over there.

No Ed, they are not. Not nearly...It is almost as if the garlic potency is the same content but because of the larger size, it is distributed. They are very useful in many recipes, because they tend not to offend with too much odor.
