| Anybody here have hot pots? If you're not sure what I'm talking about, some Chinese restaurants have a buffet of raw foods for you to pick out and they put a portable stove and pot with boiling water so you can cook the foods to eat and etc. | |||

| A friend of mine was telling me about something like that the other night, where they had a chicken broth bubbling away thru the meal, and dropped bits of meat and veges into it to cook them. At the end they dropped an egg into the remains and it cooked too. | |||

| Is that like fondue? Kall bought me a fondue set for my birthday. The first time we used it we put heaps of different types of cheeses in it, so all the cheese was all yummy and melted and we dipped bits of bread and other stuff into it .... ![]() Then we put chocolate in it and dipped pieces of banana and dried apricot ... that was very good too. You can put hot oil in it to cook meat as well. Looks like I might have to get another couple so I can do the hot oil, cheese and chocolate all at once! | ||||

| I haven't had the privilage of cooking my own food in a hot pot when I go out to a resturant and pay someone to cook for me. However, I have been to a place in Howick (East Auckland not East Oakland) where they bought you a hot rock out and the raw meat and you cooked it to how you wanted. I do not recomend this if the gathering is a xmas work piss up and you are drinking at the time. | ||||

| Degree Bar and Restaurant in the Viaduct does the steak on a hot slate thingy as well. It works quite well but you do have to remember not to touch the hot bits or you may find that the skin off your finger may end up sloughing off. | ||||
