| It's just that every single time I want my boyf to do anything I ask and ask and ask and then 4-6 weeks down the track when I'm so fed up I go and attempt it myself (with disastrous(sp?) results) he 'comes up with this great idea' which turns out to be mine! Anyway, I've managed to get him to think it's his idea for most things... but we have been together for 5 and a half blissful years now and we own our own lovely home and I know there is no-one else for me but him.... and we kind of talk a bit about getting married and having a family etc... ...but I don't have a ring yet and he hasn't proposed. How do I get him to think it's about time (as well as his idea) and just do it already!!!??!?@? Last edited by Lina; 21-Aug-2006 at 05:25 PM. | ||||

| Hey Lina Sorry for the delay in responding. Can you get your hands on any bondage gear? ![]() Seriously though ... I have no idea. Guys are funny like that I think, they often need something completely spelled out to them before they get it. Perhaps leave some jewellery brochures lying around the house with certain rings circled? I doubt dropping hints (even really big ones) will work. Visual aids are usually quite helpful ... maybe leave some brochures around about honeymoon destinations! That might get him excited about having a wedding! Good luck and let us know how you get on. | ||||

| I've tried spelling, I've tried begging, I've tried cuting out pictures of rings and things and left them lying everywhere... It's just the waiting game now.... (Yes, I've even tried making him think it's his idea and it's a good one... so far, no luck) | ||||

| Thank you very much ![]() And he's the one who's into the planning side, knows what he wants etc - not at all what I expected! | ||||

| Hey Lina, When is the wedding date? Or is it already done? - Cobra | ||||

| No, not done yet... Don't know if you read my other post about Chch, but we are heading south in April to have a look at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Tekapo. We're not religious at all, however the pics we have seen of the curch are amazing and we want something a little different. Failing that, somewhere in Auckland... I've suggested the Mudbrick Cafe on Waiheke etc but not really any ideas yet. It'll be sometime next year (Gives us a bit of time to save up the coins!) but we don't have a date yet - all we know is we'd prefer early rather than late (March-ish I think). Cobra - thank you for asking. Apart from when we announced the engagement back in November I have not had anyone (Including our Parents) ask! It's nice to have someone show an interest ![]() | ||||

| No problem Lina! I am always happy to see happy people. | ||||

| Hey Lina It's been a while since I've been on. I've been VERY slack. Has the wedding happened yet? I want DETAILS chick ... DETAILS!!!! | ||||

| Hey Sparkle, It's been anage since I've been here too. No, no wedding yet. We were thinking next year but the boy has been thinking 'What are we waiting for' and wants to do it sooner. Like August. Which doesn't leave a lot of time for planning or saving or anything like that. It does, however, mean I get to go look at dresses this week! (We have a holiday from work this week, thank god. I really need it). We really wanted to have a nice small wedding but could only find venues close by which were silly expensive or pretty reasonable but have a minimum guest amount (Which then meant it was silly too). My Mum (Bless her) has found a winery 'up North' which she thinks will be great - I'm waiting for more info on it before we decide it's where we want to get married. Any suggestions? We don't want to spend a fortune, but we don't want to be too cheap either. We only have about 25-30 guests on our list and would really like the venue we choose to be able to do our wedding and reception. We would prefer a lunchy-type wedding (We think) but would love a dinner one if not too expensive. so...... anyone? | ||||
