Youre Quite right Nite.... It doesnt mean she's stupid.
HOWEVER her recent behavious on the boards has been somewhat "stupid"

Since she joined NZB people have bent over backwards to make her feel welcome. Giving her karma and points..

My point is.... NZB is created by Kall for ALL Members... Kall and his administrators have bent over backwards to explain things to her etc....

its getting very tiresome!!

some think i am stupid. and others don't. i sometimes think i am stupid for what i do and i agree that what i did that time was very stupid of me and i realize that. thanks for pointing that out to me opti-mist.

Dear lord!

I am a teacher and know full well that there would be major alarm bells ringing if a student had a 22 year old friend! I also think that the £disability" card is being overused... I have friends who are diasbled and do find it difficult to deal with them somedays but.... would do anything for them!

Jen - i think u need to find more friends your own age or older (with maturity comes understanding and acceptance) otherwise you will still be the "old weirdo" in 10 years time when they have all moved to uni etc....

Other than that without knowing your disabilities - I can't make any more unsolicited comments.

I don't accept or condone Jeni's behaviour, all I want to know Y is it more sociable acceptable for a female to be in this situation?

People frown on it when it's a woman, but if this was a man that posted this, he would have been attacked and dealt with swiftly and be branded as a paedophile, within a blink of an eye, by the community......

Don't get me wrong, I have two daughters of 5 and a 7 years old, and there is no way in hell I'll allowed a close friendship to develop between them and a 22 year old, male or female......

She did have some mental handicaps which you can probably find somewhere in her thread as she mentioned them frequently.

She was a strange one but could be entertaining at times.

One of the hottest chicks I've ever known has cerebral palsey and walks with crutches. Nothing about her disability is 'hot', but she is confident in herself and that pretty much makes anything else about her physical appearance a non-issue. Unfortunately she's also a little screwy in the head, otherwise I'd still be hitting it.

I love the assumptions based on popular media and general lack of insight. We'll assume though that you're being the best dad you can be and any shortcomings are... well, handicaps. I'll also assume that you forgot to mention that it's ok for them to develop and sort of bond with their grandparents or your own siblings. Or older cousins. Because, well, who the fuck tells their kids they'll only ever talk to people their own age?

Mentally handicapped people are often placed in social situations with children of about the same mental age. It's good for them, good for the kids, and generally seen as a good thing all round. There's usually a caregiver present (as there should be anyway with kids, no matter who else is around) and the handicapped person's own caregiver generally knows their personality and warning signs well.

Some people raise their kids in isolation, as they themselves were raised. Others recognise that it's a wide world and narrow, inexperienced views won't serve them very well as they become adults.

I'll note that some people here (such as penny) didn't like Jeni much but I found her sweet and outgoing. Regardless of her handicap she sounds like the kind of big sister I would have wanted. I place value in a person's good nature, not how 'acceptable' they are in the light of whatever flash-in-the-pan trend is currently being applied to our society.

As far as I'm concerned whatever differences Jeni has have been discussed enough. I hope she comes back in the future to a warmer tone.

Don't be so deliberately stupid. Michael Jackson molesting children and any sort of mental disability do NOT go hand in hand.

To become a sex offender you generally need to either be molested yourself (leading to learned behaviour of this sort) or an adult with a sexual disfuction. This subject goes very deep, but it's a safe generalisation that mentally handicapped does NOT mean child molester. Grow the fuck up.

Edit: FYI, you need to read the thread more before commenting. There is indeed a theme of disability here.

In this I can agree. Last week an extremely hot phys-ed teacher who slept with one of her underage students had her sentence raised from a slap on the wrist to jail time. A lot of people associated her original lenient sentence with the fact she was extremely attractive.

This appears to be the case - just about everyone elseof a less attractive appearance involved in this sort of crime recently had received jail time in their first sentencing and her offending was no different.

I have a brother in-law, who is mentally handicapped. He's 25, with the brain of a 10 or 12 year old, but he sometimes act more grown-up than mostb adults I know!

It's pretty cool how insightful kids and similarly brained people can be. They're not too busy thinking about things as they apply to themselves, not so coloured by the intricate social aspects we apply to our lives as adults.
