Now and then there is a story about a person that just jerks your heart out. A few months ago, I watched a special on our public television channel about Rell Sunn. She died of cancer on January 2, 1998. But neither the special nor this post is about death.
She lived. And she did it to the fullest. No moment of life could be spared for self pity. She was so much what I wish to be. But she did it.
I watched the special in awe. She was a surfer and I do not find them particularly impressive.
But she was a presence. And that was impressive.
After watching the special, I did a search and there were lots of hits. I read about 50 and found this. There is a story by Rell, beginning about a screen down from the top.
