Then there was the time I set the burgler alarm off at work and everyone thought it was the fire alarm, and were all outside waiting (including myself) until they realised it was the burgler alarm.

I've also done that, when I was about 4 and shopping with my grandmother.
I was busy eyeing up the candy, and she wandered off to grab something, leaving me there. I started bawling, and a nice man took me to the counter and had someone call my grandmother over the loudspeaker.
It's pretty embarassing when I think about it now.
