Investing in the creation of a new business for New Zealand could gain you residence entry to live here.
I would be interested to hear from intending business migrants seeking an investment opportunity for migration here. The opportunity is for an equity investment/business partnership. I will describe the opportunity further down, but first to arm you with objective information:
If you visit this link and follow the site's search function for "Immigration" you can find the Immigration Act 1987. At Section 13, it refers to certain categories or requirements for residence visas.
New Zealand Legislation
One of the Criterias is business migration. Owing to favourable exchange rates a property owner in the UK for example possibly could sell up a freehold property in the UK and afford to enter as a business migrant by investing in a New Zealand business opportunity.
I am not qualified to give investment advice. It is common sense however that if one were to invest all of one's life savings into one single, potentially risky investment then that would be foolish. Therefore my suggestion is not to sink all of one's investments into my venture unless one feels completely certain.
I am also open to investment by an aggregate of more than one person for lesser amounts, but seek to raise a minimum of US$500K. If an investor will offer more then that is welcomed too. US$500K represents only a portion of the US$1.37m required for a business migrant entry visa.
Business Migrant Criteria
Entry criteria is fairly simple - provide enough capital, give evidence of high level management ability and produce a well researched business plan that shows clear benefit to New Zealand. Passive acquisition of a business without growing it or improving it is presently not accepted as a benefit.
Business migrant applications do get declined for a variety of reasons - information withheld by the client - lack of management skills - false documents - having no English competency being refused a visa on more general visa criteria (ie criminal record) - not proving sufficient knowledge of
NZ etc.

Essentially one must be able to place in a New Zealand escrow account at least
NZ$2m. The
NZ dollar fluctuates in a range from
NZ$1 = US$0.64/0.70 cents. As of 10 March 2007 the rate is US$0.684 =
NZ$1. Thus
NZ$2 million equals US$1,368,000 required to invest here.
My business opportunity
I am working to create a new domestic airline for New Zealand. I have worked for Air New Zealand and have reliable knowledge of typical passenger loads. My marketing strategy is carefully planned to minimise vulnerability to competitor's strategies. I have benefitted from the professional marketing advice of a former airline owner and aviation consultant.
I also have the use of an existing airline's Air Operator's Certificate available to me once I raise the funds required. I am further offered the use of three Boeing 737 aircraft for two years, or more. The provider will also transfer expertise to create a new proprietry air operator's license.
In total capital required is approx US$4.5m however funding for that is fairly well assured if I can raise the first US$500,000. I have performed a cash flow projection and applied known, or likely load factors and ticket prices.
I will not seek, or accept investment without going through a proper securities and debenture raising process. I do not want to accept assistance from anyone without a fair and above board process. I will not disclose much of the intended operations for reasons of commercial sensitivity, except by private communications and with an enforceable non disclosure agreement.
I invite genuinely interested investors with relevant hands on business skills to contact me and simply talk. I do need to have someway to verify who you are and if your interest is genuine.
By relevant skills there are a wide variety of skills which could be useful. Obviously a background in airline operations or management. Other skills include executive involvement in managing finance or service sector industries, travel agency, internet marketing, travel marketing or advertising.
Because different investors might seek different rewards and or risk exposure I am prepared to explore and customise a return to suit an individual investor. That could include equity, or non equity to suit and interest rates, pay back periods, or exit strategies to reduce, or avoid risk liability.
