I don't carry a purse much for this very reason. If I take a purse in with me somewhere it is very likely that I will leave it there.

I once left my purse in the cart at the grocery store after loading my groceries in the car. Luckily, whoever saw it there turned it in and my cell phone was inside. A short while later my mom got a call that my purse had been left at the grocery store so she came over and told me (luckily she lives about a minute from me). When I went back to pick it up they told me that it happens often and the first thing they do is look for a cell phone because you can always guarantee that there will be a "mom" or "dad" listed in the phonebook.
