Re: Election Day Is Coming Up-------- As much as I don't approve of all of Labours policies and they way they ignore the views on the public (when it comes to things like the vote to reduce the number of MPs from 120 or to increase sentences for violent criminals) I have major issues with National's ability to fund everything they are promising while still going through with their tax cuts.
To me it is like National are lying to buy votes and then they plan to come up with some bullshit statement like "we didn't realise the books were as bad as they are and that the country is nearly broke".
However, I feel that Labour shouldn't be given unconditional power over the country and that a collation with a left leaning group like the Greens or Alliance would hopefully give some balance to Labour’s bully-boy ways.
As for my electorate vote I am still waiting to see who the other candidates are.
We have currently have billboards for;
- an unknown standing for National,
- an invisible Labour sitting member who didn’t stand up for the health of her electorate when they were sprayed with poison in an attempt to kill a moth that MIGHT damage SOME of our timber industry (the damage was valued at about half the cost of the spray program)
If Laila Harre was to stand for Alliance (or even as an independent) in my electorate again I would definitely consider voting for her as she actually achieved something with the local hospital which now has an A&E department only 20 years after the hospital was built. |
