Kiwi Music Bands Strut Their Stuff In Texas Kiwi Music Bands Strut Their Stuff In Texas
Several New Zealand bands are doing their best to make an impression with music's big shots at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas.
Pluto, The Have, The Coolies, The Mint Chicks and Jakob have all been part of the conference performing at several different venues at the event.
Executive Coordinator for the New Zealand Music Industry Commission, Steve Newall says it is a great way for the bands to network.
Mr Newall says they can start a process of meeting up with lawyers and agents who are all there looking for new bands. He says all the kiwi bands have been warmly received.
Lead singer of The Have, Brodie White says it has been a great experience.
He says they played on Friday night to a full house and they have had a great reception.
He says they will be heading back to New Zealand in a few days time, to write and record some new songs. |
