Default re: Waitangi Day - Celebration or Reason to Protest

I went to the 100/150? year celebration when I was about 13 I think ... it was HUGE ... I think everyone partied for about a week. The atmosphere was brillaint, everyone was happy and I don't remember seeing any protestors. I am guessing that it's because at that time the maori were getting what they asked for. Now they're not having everything handed to them on a silver platter so are now protesting because of it. They're just showing how greedy they can be. 10 years ago there were 10 times as many people in Waitangi on Waitangi Day than there ever has been before and there were no problems, so what has changed?
