I've come to firmly believe that Helen Clark = The Patrician. Maybe that should be The Matrician.
Anyway, the only loose brick in this wall of fictional allusion is that one night I saw her being jostled into the Auckland Town Hall by a bunch of suits. I said "Hi Helen!" She gave me a bewildered, distracted look and managed a "hello" and was then taken inside. |
