I've made a lot of noise in the direction of the sales rep I was dealing with and I don't want the tech staff to take the flak as they've been very helpful so far (apart from the usage stats disappearing in the first place, that is). In fact I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell if it wasn't for the info I've already received from them, so you can certainly pass on my quiet gratitude.
We have zero expectations regarding our own sales team's technical competence here, so if they feel of a similar vein and maybe feel compelled to correct the statements the rep has made to date I'd be happy to forward on the email. It'd be extra-nice if Iconz higher-ups believed they had no chance of getting away with it. I would have no end of warm, bbq-rewarded appreciation if that situation came to bear.
