Ongoing Iconz saga This is getting tiresome. For those that missed my earlier gripe, Iconz took down its usage stats during November and then moved on to send me a $600 bill for that month's traffic. Our previous usage levels were less than a quarter of our allotment so there's reason to suspect a mistake in the system.
An Iconz sales rep who doesn't seem to understand the issue at hand just told me that there was never in fact any downtime. I have plenty of hard evidence on hand including emails from their technicians describing the f***up in detail. Have I been deliberately lied to? Probably. Have I been put in touch with a higher-up representative upon asking? No.
I'm equally upset that I'm dealing with Iconz period. I've never been impressed by their reputation, but it appears the company I signed on with are just a front Iconz are using to lever a more diverse public image. Back in the domain-war days they were widely seen as the bad guys.
I'm not sure if this is a plus or a minus, but the commerce commission person I contacted said it possibly wasn't covered by the fair trading act as there wasn't much to do with misleading behaviour but it would more likely be covered by some other law. |
