That's the excuse anyway.
Even if they were already picked and loaded onto the backs of rather large and hail-proof lorries I can't see the distributors and retailers missing the chance to make a quick profit.
Odds are that the growers will not see any of the extra money you paid and they will probably even take a loss if there was any actual strawberry pummeling in the fields. |
