I had to get that out of my system.
My office had our Christmas lunch today.
A very sedate affair it was too.
We decided to boycott the department bash and do our own thing.
Well... I don't know exactly who "we" are in this context. There must be some power play going on in the higher echelons that I am unaware of and some bosses are trying to out maneuver other bosses.
Anyway, we all opted out of the department get together apart from one of my colleagues who didn't know we were not to go so he signed up to both.
My line manager booked us in at the pub across the road during lunch.
It was all of us from the office packed in much closer than we normally are the rest of our working day and one other who heard about the outing.
An hour and a half this took.
We had to work on to make up for the "long lunch".
Luckily I foresaw something like this and turned up early for work
