Default re: Can your employer tell you when to take your leave?

My employer does this too

Regular employees have their holiday time measured from the end of the month in which their birthday lies.
Why?
I have no idea.
Standard practice it to measure all holiday time from the start of the financial year but not my employer, oh no.
It gets more confusing.
As I am on a series on 1 year contracts I am not considered to be part of this system and my holiday time is measured from the end of the month in which my contract started.

With me so far?

Good!

It so happened that I has 12.5 days of holiday untaken (is that even a word) and they had to be used by the end on November of I'd lose them.
So, my boss has put be on a pattern of every other week with Fridays off until the end of the month.
That coupled with day release on the Wednesdays of the two weeks I am working means that I will be in work for a total of 7.5 days this month.

Anyway.

That given me some time to be here.

Yay!
