Default re: Origin of Humankind - What's your Take on it?

I am not sure what to believe or not to believe or how we came to be... I am just glad we did.. in the most cases.

I do believe however (and I am a christian) that what is written in the bible, particuarly the Old testament should not be taken word for word as that is how it happened, they are stories that have been passed from generation to generation to try and explain how everything happened. Just like we have the Moari myths and legends here Maui slowing the sun etc.
