Re: question AFAIK, I haven't written any rules that apply to who exactly people are allowed to be mean to, except for 'Be nice to newbies' at the top of the list, and an effective 'Do unto others' clause.
If you piss someone off, they have a right to retaliate. I'm not going to take that away.
Regarding the current 'issue': again, AFAIK, there have been NO attacks on Jeni that are directly related to the fact she has disabilities. (If I am wrong, please quote them here and I will correct myself.)
Ontopic: Jeni, what difference does it make what your disabilities are? Why tell us if you want us to remain unprejudiced? Why not be like evrybody else, a faceless (if you choose) name on a messageboard?
By constantly pointing them out, it seems to me that for whatever reason, you are choosing to wear the disabilities as either a suit of armour, protecting you from everything, or a Golden Ticket, something that allows you to do whatever you like, because you are disabled.
I am going to re-open this poll, because it isn't really fair to have it showing 100% yes and allowing nobody else to vote, whilst the discussion continues.
*edit* Err...making a Poll with *this* topic a Public one (so anyone can see who voted for what) is likely to make people vote Yes regardless of their actual opinion, so as to not be seen to be 'a Cripple Basher'...don't ya think? |
