    Question Need your help on New Zealander's Project Paper

    I am probably in the wrong forum but my nephew is doing a project on New Zealanders' Lifestyles &Background Culture - These are some questions that he would like answers- I told him that I would asked......Please help

    Why are the Pohutakawa trees are allowed to be lopped in certian areas and not others in New Zealand?

    What was the name of the sandal that was compulsory to wear at all primary schools in Auckland N.Z ? Were they comfortable,what was your experience with them?

    What type of public transport was Auckland's city and Queen street renowned for?

    What is Wellington N.Z renowned for and does the town have a nickname?

    What is the tradition for a bloke (guy/man) turning 21 to do at his party/And what is the traditional birthday present to give him?

    Different councils have different rules for tree maintenance and some are stricter than others.

    Roman sandals are vile and I sympathise with my daughter when she complains about having to wear them in this day and age!

    Public Transport and Queen Street - back in the dark ages there were trams since then we have had buses but nothing worth being renowned for, sadly.

    And on your 21st a young man of lesser standing might do a yard glass of beer. And he would be given a key - probably wooden to symbolise the key to his future.
